JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 77 in Jackson County on Thursday, confirmed deputies.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. at mile marker 119 near the Goldtown exit. All northbound lanes were closed for several hours but reopened at 1 p.m., according to Jackson County 911.
Four vehicles were involved in the incident, with two additional individuals sustaining injuries. First responders provided medical aid at the scene.
Authorities believe a vehicle crossed the median and collided with oncoming traffic. The investigation is ongoing.
