Beverly, MA — An ambulance and a passenger vehicle were involved in a crash on Route 128 south early Monday morning.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. near the Route 1A exit. The white SUV sustained significant damage to the front and rear.
One person, the driver of the SUV, was transported to an area hospital with injuries that have not yet been disclosed. The ambulance, identified as belonging to Middleton Fire & Rescue, was also involved in the collision.
Authorities reported that Route 128 south was temporarily closed following the crash for emergency response operations. The investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
