MISSOULA — A woman was killed Saturday morning in a one-vehicle crash on Montana Highway 200 near Noxon.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. The Lincoln Town Car was traveling westbound on snow-covered roads when the driver failed to navigate a curve, slid off the road, struck a guardrail, and then rolled into a ditch before colliding with a tree.
The victim, a 72-year-old woman from Trout Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 73-year-old male driver sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital in Idaho.
Authorities reported that speed was a factor due to the hazardous road conditions at the time of the crash. The name of the victim remains undisclosed as of this time.
