Hernando County, FL – A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office (HCSO).
The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. on County Road 491. Authorities reported that the vehicle was traveling northbound when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the crash. The driver was pronounced dead at the location, though his identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
HCSO is investigating the cause of the accident. Authorities have confirmed that there were no other vehicles involved and no additional injuries reported.
As a result of the crash, northbound lanes of County Road 491 were closed for several hours while recovery efforts took place. Towing services were requested to remove the wreckage from the scene.
