A 15-year-old boy from Columbus died in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 10 near Park City on Saturday, October 4, 2025, shortly before 11:00 p.m., according to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP).
The teen was driving a Ford F-150 in the westbound lane when he collided with a stopped vehicle. In an attempt to avoid the rear-end collision, he swerved but ultimately clipped the vehicle before hitting a Kenworth semi-truck head-on.
The impact caused his vehicle to catch fire. Emergency responders pronounced the teenager dead at the scene; his name has not been released. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The two other drivers involved, including a 69-year-old man from Fishtail, were unharmed. MHP is investigating the incident and has stated that alcohol is a suspected factor, though it remains unclear which driver may be involved.
Further details regarding the crash and investigation will be released as the MHP continues its inquiry.
