HONOLULU (Island News) – An 82-year-old woman, identified as Kin Leung Lau, died following a pedestrian accident in the Punahou area on February 24, 2026.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:09 a.m. as Lau was crossing a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Alexander St. and Dole St. Authorities reported she succumbed to complications from multiple blunt force injuries, classifying her death as an accident. This marks Oahu's eighth traffic fatality of the year, compared to 13 fatalities at the same time in 2025.
Emergency response teams assisted at the scene, but Lau's injuries proved fatal. Further details of the investigation are ongoing.
