Marshall County Crash Leaves One Dead

A crash involving a and a in Marshall County resulted in one fatality on Thursday afternoon, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:48 p.m. on Highway 59 in New Folden Township. A Escape traveling south collided with a Western Star heading north.

The driver of the Escape, identified as 79-year-old Corienne Marie Jacobson from Karlstad, succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision. The semi-truck driver reported no injuries.

Emergency responders were on the scene, and an investigation is underway.

Highway 59 remained partially closed as of the latest reports, with traffic being diverted. Authorities have not disclosed the timeframe for full lane reopening.
