GREAT FALLS — A fatal one-vehicle rollover crash occurred in Custer County late Friday night, September 19, 2025.
The incident took place around 11 p.m. near mile marker 137 along Interstate 94, just south of Miles City.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a 41-year-old man from Miles City was driving eastbound in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when he lost control, crossing the centerline and striking a bridge barrier.
The driver over-corrected and veered off the right side of the road, hitting a delineator post. The vehicle subsequently rolled several times, and the driver was ejected from the Jeep due to a lack of seatbelt use, as stated in the MHP crash report.
The identity of the man has not been released, and he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The MHP report indicated that speed and drug use may have contributed to the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
