SHELBY COUNTY, Iowa — A western Iowa man died following a snowmobile crash in Shelby County early Sunday morning.
Authorities said the incident occurred along Highway 191, approximately 15 miles west of Harlan. Deputies discovered Scott Gau, 64, trapped in a creek with his snowmobile.
Gau was removed from the icy water and pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is pending at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny.
