15-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies in Richmond Crash Involving SUV

RICHMOND, Va. — A 15-year-old boy died following a crash on Harwood Street just before midnight on Friday, police confirmed.

Authorities reported that an SUV lost control and struck the teen, who was a pedestrian, near the intersection of Richmond Highway and Harwood. Four occupants of the vehicle—three adults and another teenager—were also with life-threatening injuries.

The teenager succumbed to his injuries at the hospital early Saturday morning.

The Richmond Police Department is investigating the incident, with preliminary findings suggesting that speed may have contributed to the crash.
