BARABOO, Wis. (WKOW) — A 13-year-old girl was killed in a crash involving an Amish buggy on July 15 at approximately 8:51 a.m. in the Village of Ironton.

Authorities identified the victim as Kristina Borntrager, a resident of LaValle, who was at the scene by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office. The collision occurred when a northbound pickup truck, driven by an 81-year-old man from Viola, struck the buggy just north of the Rabuck Road intersection.

Officials reported that the buggy had functioning lights and a slow-moving vehicle placard. Borntrager was wearing a high-visibility reflective vest at the time of the incident. The horse involved appeared uninjured, but the buggy sustained significant damage.
