BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — A 19-year-old woman was killed and an 18-year-old man was injured in a crash early Wednesday morning in Monroe County.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office reports the accident occurred around 1:27 a.m. at the intersection of South State Road 446 and Allens Creek Road. A Subaru traveling on S.R. 446 left the roadway and overturned.
The female passenger, identified as a 19-year-old Medora resident, succumbed to her injuries. The male driver, an 18-year-old from Franklin, was airlifted to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for medical treatment.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash and stated additional information will be released as it becomes available.
