Authorities reported a serious vehicle crash in Manchester on Wednesday, July 16, shortly after 12:58 p.m.

A 61-year-old woman, Lisa Leith, is in stable condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center following the incident at Commonwealth Boulevard and Third Street. She was charged with driving while intoxicated.

According to police, Leith was operating a red 2024 Nissan Frontier when she failed to negotiate a curve, resulting in the vehicle striking several street signs, severing a utility pole, and overturning in nearby woods.

The preliminary investigation indicates the Nissan was traveling west on Commonwealth Boulevard when it left the roadway and hit a series of obstacles before coming to rest on its roof, approximately 20 yards from the original crash site. The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage.

First responders, including Manchester Township Emergency Medical Services and paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, extricated Leith from the vehicle and transported her to the hospital.

The Traffic Safety Unit of the Manchester Police Department, comprising Patrolmen Jesse Hoydis and Sage Sysol, is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
