Dixon Mills, AL — A single-car crash early this morning has claimed the life of a 34-year-old woman in Marengo County.
According to Alabama State Troopers, Laporsha Dumas of Dixon Mills was driving on Alabama Highway 10 when her vehicle struck a utility pole shortly after 12:45 a.m. Investigators confirmed that Dumas was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and died at the scene.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Dumas's injuries were fatal. The roadway is reported to have experienced brief lane closures while authorities conducted their investigation. No additional vehicles or injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation by authorities.
