Woman critically injured in Highway 50 crash and airlifted to University Hospital.

One person was critically injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday night in Moniteau County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred around 8:55 p.m. on Highway 50 at Route H.

A 2004 PT Cruiser, driven by a 52-year-old woman from California, Mo., was traveling westbound, followed by a 2026 Peterbilt 579, also westbound.

The Peterbilt attempted to pass the Cruiser when the latter turned left, leading to a collision.

The female driver of the sustained critical injuries and was to University Hospital by MU Air.

Authorities confirmed she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released regarding traffic disruptions or further injuries.
