SAN ANTONIO, TX – A woman was arrested after allegedly driving into an active crash scene and striking the body of a deceased pedestrian on Friday.

The incident occurred near State Highway 211, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. A 61-year-old man was initially struck by a vehicle's side mirror while walking along the roadway, causing him to fall. A second vehicle then hit the man, resulting in his death at the scene.

Both drivers involved in the initial accident remained on-site while deputies secured the area and established barricades. Investigators reported that 26-year-old Tionne Spears drove around the barricades, entering the restricted scene and running over the victim's body.

Deputies discovered khat, an illegal plant with stimulant-like effects, in Spears' possession. She was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated, abuse of a corpse, and possession.
