Unrestrained driver fatally injured after ATV collides with cement barrier near Apex.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A 47-year-old man died following a crash in Apex on March 5, according to Las Vegas police.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Clark Petersen Boulevard, east of North Las Vegas Boulevard. Authorities reported that the man was driving a 2018 Can-Am Maverick X3 southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, leaving the roadway and striking a cement barrier.

Police confirmed the driver was not wearing a restraint and was from the vehicle, landing in a desert area nearby. Both the driver and a passenger were transported to UMC Trauma for medical treatment. The driver was at the hospital, while the passenger suffered minor injuries and was later released.

This incident marks the 30th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2026. The crash is currently under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
