PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. (WKRC) — A police chase involving a U-Haul truck ended with a crash on May 8 after a deputy executed a PIT maneuver.
According to the Paulding Sheriff's Office, the chase began when deputies observed the U-Haul driver, Damian Jones, operating the vehicle recklessly within their jurisdiction. Jones was wanted for charges in other counties.
During the pursuit, the U-Haul struck a truck and several other vehicles. The chase concluded when a deputy successfully performed a PIT maneuver, causing the U-Haul to roll onto its side in a church parking lot.
Jones was taken into custody, and authorities reported finding drugs inside the U-Haul. Specific charges against him have not yet been released.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident. No injuries were reported among the involved parties.
