Two individuals were injured in a crash on Highway 63 in Boone County late Saturday night after a driver reportedly lost consciousness.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on August 29, on southbound Highway 63 near Peabody Road.
A 17-year-old girl from Osceola was driving a 2021 Ford Bronco southbound when she allegedly fell asleep. The Bronco collided with the rear of a 2022 Toyota Camry, which was also traveling southbound.
The teenager sustained minor injuries and was transported by Boone County Ambulance to University Hospital. The driver of the Camry, a 58-year-old man from St. Louis, suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to University Hospital.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, according to the Highway Patrol report. The Bronco incurred extensive damage, while the Camry was declared totaled. Both vehicles were towed from the location.
