KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — Two people were hospitalized following a crash that closed multiple lanes of Interstate 64 in Kanawha County on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near South Charleston. The right and middle lanes were shut down for over an hour but have since reopened.
According to Kanawha County dispatchers, the two injured individuals were transported to a local hospital; their current conditions remain unclear.
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of the accident, which resulted in one vehicle overturning.
Traffic congestion was reported extending back to the Institute area by 8:30 a.m. Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the vicinity as normal traffic patterns resume.
