A single-vehicle crash in Saline County on Saturday night resulted in two individuals being hospitalized following an overturn on U.S. Highway 65.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the incident occurred at 9:28 p.m. involving a 2005 Ford Focus driven by a 25-year-old man from Slater.
The driver lost control while heading southbound, causing the car to veer off the right side of the road. It then overcorrected, slid back across the roadway in reverse, and ultimately overturned after striking an embankment.
The driver sustained moderate injuries and was transported to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. A 24-year-old female passenger from Marshall incurred minor injuries and was also taken to the same hospital.
Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, as noted in the patrol report.
The Ford Focus was declared a total loss and was removed from the scene by Thompson's Towing.
