BOZEMAN — A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 killed a 42-year-old woman from Bozeman on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the incident occurred near mile marker 311. A 53-year-old man from Billings was driving a Peterbilt truck in the eastbound lane when he failed to slow down for several vehicles that were stopping due to a construction zone.
The truck struck the rear of a VW Golf, resulting in the death of the Bozeman woman. The collision also involved a Subaru driven by a 69-year-old woman from Laurel, which was pushed into a Ford Explorer driven by a 35-year-old man with a 9-year-old passenger. Both the Subaru and the Ford exited the right side of the interstate, while the Peterbilt veered off course and hit a fence.
Emergency responders pronounced the Bozeman woman dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, with lane closures reported in the area.
