Three-vehicle crash on I-71 in Mansfield seriously injures one.

MANSFIELD, Ohio — A three-vehicle crash on I-71 near milepost 173 in Mifflin Township injured two men at 12:27 a.m. Saturday.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a southbound Bronco went off the left side of the roadway and hit a stationary Lexus RC on the shoulder.

Authorities said the impact pushed the Lexus into a parked F-650 tow truck, which then struck Derek Tharp, 28, and Steven Gamble, 38, who were standing outside the truck.

Troopers identified the Bronco driver as Antonio Mayberry, 36, and the Lexus occupant as Zober Ahmad, 24. Both Mayberry and Ahmad were wearing seat belts.

Tharp was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield with serious injuries, and Ahmad was transported with minor injuries, according to the patrol. Medical staff treated Mayberry and Gamble at the scene.

The crash occurred in Richland County and remains under investigation by the OSHP Mansfield Post.
