Three Injured in Camden County Crash Monday Afternoon
Three people were injured in a crash on Highway 5 in Camden County around 1 p.m. Monday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on Highway 5 when a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe, traveling eastbound on Highway 7, attempted a left turn onto Highway 5. The Hyundai failed to yield to the oncoming Chevy, resulting in a collision.
The 47-year-old male driver of the Silverado from Overland Park, Kansas, sustained serious injuries. The 61-year-old female driver of the Hyundai and her 9-year-old female passenger, both from Steelville, Missouri, sustained moderate injuries.
All injured parties were transported to Lake Regional Hospital for medical treatment. MSHP reported that the woman and child were wearing seatbelts during the accident, while the man was not.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, and lane closures were implemented to facilitate emergency response efforts.
