A 15-year-old boy from Columbus died in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 10 near Park City on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP), the incident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. The teen was driving a Ford F-150 in the westbound lane when he approached a stopped vehicle. Attempting to avoid a rear-end collision, he swerved and clipped the stopped vehicle before colliding head-on with a Kenworth semi-truck.
The boy's vehicle subsequently caught fire, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released. MHP confirmed he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Authorities reported that the other two drivers involved, including a 69-year-old man from Fishtail, were unharmed. MHP indicated that alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash, though it is unclear which driver may be involved. An investigation is ongoing.
