Hebron Dirt Bike Crash Claims Life of 14-Year-Old
A 14-year-old boy died after a dirt bike accident in Hebron on Sunday evening. Erik Brooker, a freshman at RHAM High School, was riding west on Burnt Hill Road when he lost control and crashed into a rocky embankment around 5:25 p.m.
State police reported that Brooker was transported to Marlborough Middlesex Clinic by EMS due to serious, life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries, officials confirmed.
Dr. Colin McNamara, superintendent of Regional School District 8, expressed condolences in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Erik's family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” he said.
In response to the tragedy, the school district has implemented support services at RHAM Middle School and RHAM High School, collaborating with AHM Youth and Family Services. Therapy dogs will be present at both schools to provide comfort.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the accident or has further information to contact Connecticut State Police.
