Teenager Killed in Darby Township Crash
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A 16-year-old boy died following a crash in Darby Township on Saturday.
The incident occurred on State Route 762, south of US-62, when a Ford F-250 truck, operated by a 17-year-old driver, struck a guardrail and subsequently crashed into a residence. Authorities reported that the driver appeared to overcorrect, leading to the loss of control.
Drace Johnson, of Circleville, was transported first to Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital and later transferred to Mount Carmel East, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sept. 29.
The juvenile driver was arrested at the scene for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Two other juvenile males were also present in the truck during the crash.
The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
