Sweet-Ola Highway Closed for Three Hours Following Fatal Rollover Accident That Claimed Life of Ontario Woman.

EMMETT, Idaho (CBS2) — A crash on Sweet-Ola Highway killed a 63-year-old woman from Ontario, Oregon, on Friday evening.

According to Idaho State Police, the incident occurred on September 11, 2026, at approximately 6:27 p.m. The victim was driving a blue 1996 northbound when she lost control, veering off the right shoulder before overcorrecting.

The vehicle crossed both northbound and southbound lanes, ultimately rolling over off the west side of the highway. Authorities reported that the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was at the scene.

Sweet-Ola Highway was closed in both directions for approximately three hours and six minutes following the accident. The Idaho State Police received assistance from the Gem County Sheriff's Office and Gem County Fire & EMS.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
