Somerset Man Indicted on DUI and Wanton Endangerment Charges Following November Crash.

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Somerset man was indicted on multiple charges, including DUI and wanton endangerment, following a November crash.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, 41-year-old Kyle Garrett was indicted on March 4 by the Pulaski Grand Jury in relation to a November 26 incident at the intersection of Oak Hill Road and Ferry Road. Garrett was arrested on the indictment warrant on March 9 and subsequently released after posting a $30,000 cash bond.

Authorities reported that Garrett was driving a Honda Odyssey when he failed to stop at a stop sign, collided with a BMW , and crashed through a fence. After the crash, Garrett exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

A nearby Burnside Police Department officer witnessed the incident and apprehended Garrett as he ran down Ferry Road. Upon arrival, deputies found that Garrett was driving on a suspended license and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, with empty alcohol containers present in the vehicle.

Witnesses reported that Garrett nearly collided with another vehicle before the crash, and the owner of the Honda stated Garrett did not have permission to operate the vehicle.

Garrett faces numerous charges, including:

  • First-degree wanton endangerment
  • DUI
  • Disregarding a stop sign
  • First-degree criminal mischief
  • Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Second-degree fleeing or evading police
  • Operating on a suspended/revoked operator's license

Garrett remains in the Pulaski County Detention Center after bonding out on December 2, 2022.
