One Dead in Arlington Crash on I-30
ARLINGTON, TX — A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 30 left one man dead Tuesday night at approximately 7:34 p.m.
According to the Arlington Police Department, the incident involved a flatbed truck that overturned in the westbound lanes near Fielder Road. Police received calls reporting the truck was overturned.
Authorities said the truck veered off the highway, struck a light pole, hit a guardrail, and rolled down a hill, landing on its roof. The driver, identified as 46-year-old Ted Godfrey by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported. Investigators indicated that the driver may have fallen asleep while driving; he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
