Motorcycle Crash Claims Life in Central Iowa
DES MOINES, IA — A motorcycle accident on Highway 65 near mile marker 213 resulted in a fatality on August 28, 2026, at approximately 2:41 p.m.
Authorities report that a 45-year-old male motorcyclist collided with a pickup truck traveling eastbound. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown from his vehicle. Emergency responders from the Iowa State Patrol and local fire departments arrived shortly after the incident.
Despite medical aid provided on scene, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.
