POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — Authorities report a fatal accident in Pottawatomie County on August 6.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a collision on Garretts Lake Rd. Investigators confirmed that 35-year-old Roger Harris was driving westbound when his vehicle veered off the right side of the road, rolled, and struck a tree.
Harris sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle also suffered injuries and was taken for medical treatment.
The accident prompted a temporary closure of Garretts Lake Rd. as authorities conducted an investigation. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, with further details expected to be released as they become available.
