Driver Seriously Injured in I-95 Crash in Kennebunk
A Lebanon driver was seriously injured in a crash on I-95 in Kennebunk on Monday morning.
Kelly Adams, 45, was operating a 2019 Nissan SUV northbound near mile marker 23 at approximately 8:48 a.m. when her vehicle rear-ended a 2022 Toyota SUV and subsequently struck a 2004 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was stopped in the breakdown lane, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Adams was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with significant injuries. The driver of the Toyota was also taken to the medical center for evaluation, while the tractor-trailer's driver was unharmed.
The crash caused northbound traffic on I-95 to be halted for around two hours. The incident is under investigation by authorities, and while no charges have been filed, the York County District Attorney's Office will review the case.
