A 43-year-old Sedalia man died Saturday evening in a UTV crash in Benton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).
The incident occurred around 6:05 p.m. on Leisure Drive near 11091 Leisure Drive. Authorities reported the man was driving a 2024 Yamaha Wolverine southbound when the vehicle struck a tree and overturned.
The UTV came to rest on top of the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Benton County Coroner Weston Miller at approximately 6:33 p.m.
Troopers confirmed the driver was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The vehicle was totaled and secured at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
