Police Release Footage of Crash Involving Tyler Robinson, Suspect in Charlie Kirk Shooting

St. George, UT—Police released video footage from a 2022 traffic collision involving Tyler Robinson, who is charged with killing conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

The incident occurred at an intersection where Robinson's Audi collided with a sedan making a left turn. According to authorities, no citations were issued, and neither driver sustained visible injuries.

The footage shows Robinson, then 19, in a cooperative exchange with law enforcement. He explained that he had just topped off his vehicle's oil before the crash. “(The other driver) would've been there going left, and as I was coming through, he turned in, and I T-boned into the side of him,” Robinson told the officer.

Robinson was accompanied by his brother at the time and contacted his mother for insurance information, which she later provided to police.

Robinson faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder in connection with Kirk's death. Prosecutors are pursuing the death penalty. At a recent court appearance, he appeared in an anti-suicide smock and only stated his name.

Court records indicate Robinson made suicidal threats prior to his arrest, prompting a peaceful surrender facilitated by family members.
