COURTLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A collision involving a and a school occurred Tuesday morning on 12 Mile Road.

The accident took place just before 7 a.m. near Shaner Avenue. The school bus was stationary with its red lights activated while picking up a student when it was struck from behind by a car.

According to witnesses, the impact caused the car to catch fire, but flames were quickly extinguished using a fire extinguisher. No injuries were reported for the bus passengers or the car's driver.

The car suffered significant damage, while the bus remained unharmed. Authorities confirmed that the teenage driver received a ticket for failing to stop.
