A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 65 northbound in Nashville late Wednesday injured five people and led to lane closures.
The crash occurred at 7:23 p.m. near the Jefferson Street exit, involving three sedans and a pickup truck, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Two of the injured were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries; the others suffered minor injuries.
Emergency responders from the Nashville Fire Department and Metro Police arrived shortly after the incident. The northbound lanes were closed for approximately two hours for cleanup and investigation.
Authorities reported that an investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
