A three-vehicle collision on Interstate 10 near mile marker 72 resulted in two fatalities and multiple injuries on Sept. 16.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. involving a sedan, an SUV, and a pickup truck, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Authorities reported that one person was pronounced dead at the scene, while another succumbed to injuries at a local hospital. A total of five individuals were transported for medical treatment.
I-10 was closed in both directions for approximately two hours as emergency responders removed debris and conducted an investigation.
Towing services were called to remove the vehicles involved, and the roadway has since been cleared. An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, officials said.
