RIDGELAND, Miss. — A Ridgeland police officer injured in a crash during April's storms has received financial support for recovery efforts.

Cpl. Ryan Stacy sustained serious injuries when his cruiser collided with a fallen tree on Ratliff Ferry Road in Canton. He suffered broken bones and a ruptured spleen.

According to Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers, Stacy was en route to work at the time of the incident but did not arrive.

This week, the 1828 Project of Madison County presented Stacy with a check to assist with recovery expenses and lost wages. The nonprofit expressed gratitude for community support, stating, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our wonderful community for their generous donations and their active participation in the various fundraisers to help Officer Stacy and his family during this time.”
