MANCHESTER, N.H. — First responders were dispatched to a Rochester campground twice on Sunday night due to a vehicle crash and a stabbing.
According to authorities, the initial call came in at approximately 8:30 p.m. regarding a truck that veered off the roadway, crashed into a trailer at Amazon Campground, and then fled the scene. Emergency crews are actively searching for the driver.
About 90 minutes later, first responders returned to the campground following reports of a stabbing. Officials stated that 22-year-old Lee McHugh of Rochester was involved in an argument that escalated when a knife was brandished. McHugh has been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
No injuries related to the vehicle crash have been reported, and the condition of the stabbing victim is currently unknown. Authorities have not disclosed the status of the investigation into the hit-and-run incident.
