ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — One person is in custody after a collision involving a police officer on Saturday night.
Authorities reported the incident occurred as an officer was traveling south on Ironwood Road. A vehicle attempting to turn onto Dunn Road pulled in front of the officer, resulting in the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene but was later located inside a nearby residence. They were taken into custody, with police suspecting that alcohol may have played a role in the incident.
The officer involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
