MARYLAND WOMAN KILLED IN COASTAL HIGHWAY CRASH INVOLVING E-BIKE

A woman from Maryland was killed in a collision involving an e-bike and a pickup truck on Coastal Highway on October 15 at approximately 2:41 p.m.

According to the Delaware State Police, the incident occurred near mile marker 4.5, northbound. The 34-year-old woman was riding the e-bike when she was struck by a pickup truck traveling in the same direction. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Authorities reported that the driver of the pickup truck remained at the location and cooperated with the investigation. Witnesses indicated that were clear at the time of the crash.

The police closed the northbound lanes of Coastal Highway for approximately three hours to facilitate investigation and clear the wreckage. The Delaware State Police Traffic Unit is leading the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
