Pedestrian seriously injured in Jefferson Township crash

A pedestrian was struck and critically injured around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on westbound state Route 16 near Cabot Mills Road in Jefferson Township.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, a traveling westbound hit a man walking alongside the roadway.

Authorities said the pedestrian was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital in critical condition. The driver and passengers were not hurt and remained at the scene as crews responded.

The Sheriff's Office said the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Crash Investigation Unit at 614-525-6113.
