MISSOULA, Mont. — A pedestrian was killed on Tuesday evening after being struck by a vehicle on eastbound Interstate 90 near mile marker 495, close to Hardin.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 7:21 p.m. when a pedestrian entered the roadway from the median and ran in front of a Mercedes Sprinter operated by a 67-year-old man from Bozeman. The driver attempted to swerve to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver sustained no injuries. Authorities stated that road conditions were dry at the time, and there is no suspicion of alcohol or drug involvement.
The Montana Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
