TAUNTON, Mass. —
A single-car crash late Friday night left one woman dead and another injured on County Street.
The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. near 266 County Street.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, officers found a 2001 Honda Accord with severe damage against a telephone pole. Two women were inside the vehicle.
The driver, identified as Selina Mendez, 26, of Taunton, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. A 23-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by Taunton Police and the District Attorney's Office. No additional information has been provided.
