MAGNA, UTAH (KUTV) — A three-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 80 near Great Salt Lake State Park resulted in one fatality on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it collided head-on with an eastbound Dodge Ram 2500.
A Toyota RAV4, also traveling eastbound, subsequently struck the Dodge, causing it to overturn.
The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu was pronounced dead at the scene, while all other involved individuals were transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed the incident occurred near milepost 104 at approximately 2:41 p.m.
First responders closed the eastbound lanes of I-80 and diverted traffic to state Route 201 for the duration of the investigation.
