SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah — A driver was killed and a passenger injured in a crash on Interstate 15 Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., a Dodge Charger traveling northbound on I-15 near 3300 South veered off the right side of the road and rolled over, coming to rest upside down between the northbound lanes and the on-ramp. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the female driver and male passenger were both transported to local hospitals.
The driver, identified as 45-year-old Erin Bingham from South Ogden, succumbed to her injuries. The passenger is reported to be in stable condition. Initial reports classified the incident as a single-vehicle crash, but authorities later determined that the Charger had collided with a Honda Civic before losing control.
Northbound lanes were closed for approximately five minutes around 5:30 p.m. They have since reopened.
