COVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 84 left one dead and another injured on September 18.
According to Alabama State Troopers, the collision occurred around 2:35 p.m. at the intersection with Page Road, approximately one mile east of Andalusia. A small SUV operated by 72-year-old Larry Jones of Andalusia was struck by a car driven by 66-year-old Teresa Powell, also from Andalusia.
Jones was transported to Andalusia Health, where he was pronounced dead. Powell sustained injuries and was also taken to the same facility for medical care.
Authorities have not indicated the cause of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
