LUCASVILLE, Ohio — A two-vehicle collision at State Route 32 and Coal Dock Road in Union Township, Pike County, on Tuesday afternoon left three dead, authorities said.
The Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded at 1:56 p.m., according to the agency.
According to the Patrol, a 2012 Chevy Traverse operated by Hannah N. Howard, 30, Beaver, was traveling north on Coal Dock Road.
A 2009 Kenworth T800 tractor-trailer pulling an empty logging trailer, operated by Chance E. Rodgers, 27, Bainbridge, was traveling west on State Route 32, authorities said.
The Chevy failed to yield to continue north on Coal Dock Road and was struck by the tractor-trailer, according to OSHP.
Howard and two child passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
A third passenger, a minor, was flown by air ambulance to Nationwide Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Patrol.
Rodgers was uninjured, OSHP said.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said it is investigating.
