A collision on Interstate 80 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, left one person dead and three others injured this afternoon, authorities reported.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. involving two vehicles traveling eastbound near Exit 56. Emergency services responded quickly, including the ALLENTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT and AMBULANCE SERVICE.
One individual, a 45-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other occupants, ages 28, 32, and 50, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities closed two lanes to facilitate the investigation and removal of the vehicles, resulting in significant delays. A full investigation into the cause of the accident is underway, and no charges have been filed at this time.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes as traffic remains impacted.
